A Few of My Favorite Things

Sixteen months ago, I wrote my first blog post.  Since then, I’ve met fascinating people, made many friends, and discovered a new form of storytelling.  I’m like the Tortoise, not the Hare–slow and steady. Finally, I get to post for the hundredth time!

Through this blog I share my passion for travel, photography, writing, storytelling, and that which I hold dearest, my family. But if not for you, this blog would not exist.  There is an Armenian folk saying…

Three apples fell from heaven.

One for the teller,

One for the listener,

And one for the one who took it to heart.

Thank you for being here, for reading, for caring enough to follow this blog, and for sharing your thoughts, your stories, your lives with me through your blogs.  To mark this milestone, here are a few of my favorite posts from the past sixteen months.

    1. Thank you, Scilla! It is a little miracle to see him take a pen and create worlds and dimensions on paper. He and Bea are collaborating on a web comic, and I can hardly wait until they post it!

    1. Hi Lynne,
We have been following each other for a long time, and I appreciate not only your artistic talents and great travel blog, but your support and encouragement.

  1. Congratulations on reaching this 100 post milestone. You have built a strong foundation. It’s always a pleasure to read your posts and travel with you on this journey.

  2. I love your blog, as well you know 🙂 Whenever I visit you here, I always take away with me a sense of wellbeing. Your photography, combined with such well-chosen words, is such a gift. And you’re a great, great personality who cares so much for your family, which is a great inspiration in such a fractured world. Thank you xox

    1. Dear Sarah,
I thank you for your ever generous support. The storytelling comes easily to me, but I am in awe of the poet, like yourself, who can paint whole worlds with a few eloquent brushstrokes. Your feet are rooted firmly on this fertile green earth, yet you must have heaven whispering into your ear, because I can hear it in your poetry, whether you are capturing the depth of human emotion or the whimsy of the world in a haiku.

  3. And I have enjoyed reading your blog. You post wonderful stories and I especially like your photo journals. You have a way of telling a story which I find irresistible. Congratulations, Naomi.

  4. So glad to have discovered ‘WBL’ Naomi – you’re always a refreshing face in the crowd of blog posts

    1. Thank you so much! I am very slow at this, both in the writing, and the rate at which I post, but it’s good to know that when I do, there are folks out there who don’t mind taking a minute to read them. That is something I do not take for granted, and which I really appreciate.

  5. It is always a pleasure to visit your blog, and to listen to your stories. Congratulations on this milestone. Looking forward to many more.

  6. I’m so glad you started blogging. I’m going to go back and read your favorites because I haven’t read all 100 of your posts. The ones I have read are memorable. My two favorites are the story about your aunt and your cooking class with the burning mitt. So fun and so funny, in that order. 🙂 Marsha 🙂 Keep them coming!

    1. Dear Marsha,
You are so kind! It is always very interesting to me to know which posts appeal to folks, so thank you for taking the time to share that as well. It was a good day when you started to blog. I have enjoyed your posts too, and appreciate the practical information you share about blogging as well.

      1. Thanks! I agree. Who knows what will be popular, and what won’t. I just write about what I am doing that I think is interesting. It’s always surprising when someone else appreciates it! 🙂

    1. I tend to go from week to week, with one eye on the Weekly challenges, and the other on the road. It is, as you say, a bit of a surprise to look back in the rear view mirror and see how far I have come. Thanks so much for being a part of the journey, Meg. I have so enjoyed following your journey.

  7. Dear Madhu,
I have a special spot in my heart for you, as you gave me my first Liebster Award way back when. Not only do you have one of the classiest travel and photography blogs in the blogosphere, but you are such a kind, thoughtful, and gracious person. I can see the good energy you radiate wherever you visit, and that is EVERYWHERE. I think of you as the Good Fairy of the Blogworld. Thank you so much for being a part of my journey; I have truly been honored to be a part of yours.

  8. Congratulations Naomi! It’s been a pleasure reading you. Looking forward to more stories and photographs from your life!

    Hugs,
    Mary
