Since the theme for Jake’s Sunday Post is about bridges, I couldn’t resist a reblog for my new readers. Pete and repeat were crossing a bridge….
So many bridges.
Bridges of concrete…
…iron…
…and steel.
Ancient ones of stone…
…brick…
…mortar….
…and wood.
Some are famous…
…celebrated in story…
…and song.
Some draw pilgrims from all over the world.
So different…
…yet they serve the same purpose.
To span distance…
…to connect…
…to deliver us from troubled waters.
There’s an old saying…it is better to build bridges than walls.

I’m listening to Bridge over Troubled Water – You Tube video from Frizz. Love that song. I’m trying to think back to where I was at the time I first heard it. Songs will do that – won’t they?

I still listen to the songs I loved way back when I first started buying my own records and listening to the radio. I feel a little secret triumph when my kids will download them to enjoy, because some of them are timeless. Bridge Over Troubled Waters is one of those that they love too.

Speaking of records … the old 33’s are making a come back. My hubby loves those. He has purchased some jazz LP’s and the sound is so much better than Cd’s.
